Taking a breather...

This week, the photographers of Simulacra are taking a little break & soaking up some sun (in Southwest Florida).

That doesn't meant that we aren't still pushing for new clients!   So, if you or someone you know is in the market for a portrait photographer, baby photographer, child photographer, family portrait photographer, or wedding photographer, anywhere in the world, send them our way.

A pleasant day in the park...

On March 25, Simulacra met up with Maverick and his father Darren for a shoot at Freedom Park in the Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte, NC...

Maverick, a four-year-old toe head, was full of energy and all smiles.  Darren was a big help and even jumped in for a few frames here and there.

While Darren chooses which images he would like to print, I will offer up a teaser image from the sitting.

A little teaser... From last weekend's shoot

So, this week, Simulacra's principal photographer is wearing his commercial photography hat in bustling New York City.   That doesn't mean that Simulacra's photographic gears grind to a halt...

All told Scott captured around 375 images of Lexi and her parents during their pre-church session last Sunday.  It looks as though roughly 20% of those images are going to make it onto Simulacra's online proofer for Lexi's parents to choose from.

Not bad for a Sunday morning :)

After Lexi's parents make their selections, updates will be made to Simulacra's website and Facebook pages.

Spring has sprung!

Today your favorite portrait photographer is enjoying a lazy Saturday afternoon on his front porch...  Soaking up the sun and sipping on an iced tea.  Today is the type of day that dreams are made of...   The type of day that makes me thankful for the decision to move Simulacra's base of operations to the Queen City of Charlotte, NC...  Blue sky, sunny, and 70+ degrees.

It's not all fun and games though...   Tomorrow it will be back to work.   Simulacra has a booking tomorrow morning to photograph a lovely Charlotte family.   As soon as completing that shoot, it will be time to hit the road...   A commercial client in NYC had needs and our sister company, Scott Clinton Photography is answering the call.

Spring time and inclement weather

The past week or so have been frustrating for your favorite Charlotte Photographer...   Inclement weather caused the postponement of two shoots.   Frustrating to say the least, but nevertheless part of doing business.

Simulacra photography spent the week working on estimates for potential NYC and Knoxville wedding photography clients.   Additionally, Simulacra has been working with Baltimore based design firm Orange Element on a new tri-fold brochure, targeted at weddings.   Final design should be completed by the week's end!

Other than that, Simulacra has been planning trips to New York, Sarasota, and Omaha.  

Successful event

Last night was the Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association "Winter Fling" fundraiser in Charlotte, NC.   As stated in an earlier post, Simulacra Photography donated a portrait sitting for the cause.   We spoke with the lucky winners and they are eagerly anticipating their shoot!

So, everyone it happy...  Right?

Design updates, supporting materials, and a winter fling...

Since the launch of our new New York/North Carolina/Nebraska/World Wide portrait photography website, Simulacra has been busy tweaking minute details.   In addition to these subtle changes, we have also been busy working with Baltimore, MD based design firm, Orange Element on promotional materials. While working on these new materials, the decision was made to change our focus from specifically North Carolina, New York, Nebraska, World Wide to Small Town, Big City, World Wide.   This new focus is more in keeping with Simulacra's business model....   We go where the clients need us!

So far, the rock stars at Orange Element have designed Simulacra 5 new business card fronts, which are due back from the printer TOMORROW!

In addition to the business cards, Orange Element also designed an over-sized post card.

These "hot off the presses" materials will debut during the Plaza-Midwood Winter Fling and Community Garden Fund Raising Auction in Charlotte, NC, this Saturday.  Simulacra, for the second year, has donated a sitting for the auction.   If you are in the area, be sure to come check out the event...  It is a good time and a good cause.

In the next couple weeks, Orange Element and Simulacra will begin working on a tri-fold brochure featuring mostly wedding images.   This is all part of a big push to make Simulacra Photography the first and only stop on the road to high end wedding photography in places like Charlotte, NC, New York City, NY, Omaha, NE...  As well as anywhere else we can drive or fly to.

From there, we will begin hitting the bricks in search for venues, boutiques, and wedding planners.  Help spread the word!

At long last... A new site is born

Simulacra's ace web developer, John Fontana, really outdid himself with this one...   The new Simulacra.com website is clean and simple yet refined and elegant.

With this new online portfolio, Simulacra can now visually demonstrate our abilities to document life.   Specifically, Simulacra.com now features photographic galleries containing:  Wedding Photography, Babies, Children, Teens, Siblings, Families, Couples, and Adults.

As time marches on, Simulacra.com will continue to grow and evolve...  We will update the written and visual content on a regular basis as bookings come and go.   Soon, we will add another gallery featuring examples of the age progression of children.  Simulacra has been fortunate enough to photograph a few of the same children several times over the course of their young lives.  Be sure to visit Simulacra.com often, tell your friends and colleagues, and don't forget to "Like" us on Facebook.

One month down... Eleven to go

Where did January go???   Well, Simulacra Photography and their web developer, John Fontana, have been busy developing the new Simulacra.com.   If it weren't for hangups with Simulacra's web hosting service, this posting would be to announce the official launch.  However, hangups can, will, and unfortunately have, happened.   Hopefully these will be short lived "issues."

Aside from all the computer work, Simulacra has also been busy shooting.   Our most recent shoot took place outside of Allentown, PA.   We went back to photograph siblings Cece and Sammy.  Oh how they have grown.

A new year...

Happy 2011!!!

The first twenty days of the new year have been spent working on the new Simulacra.com website with our web developer, John Fontana.   As we near completion, we are also busy booking shoots and preparing print orders for our clients.
